Resolved Question: Can we terraform the Nevada desert?

If there is an idea to terraform Mars, why cant we do it with our deserts? Can we ship in rich soil by railroad? If its shade, cant we make that?--saw some palm trees in desert yesterday, or man made trees doubling as windmills If its water, cant we pipe it in?--saw on survivor man that you can get fresh water from salt water by using plastic over it producing condensation. We could pipe in ocean water, or just divert river water. Or dig down for water, Barstow NV is in desert and gets water somehow. Yes this would cost lots of money, but so does going to Mars If any Nevada people answer, have you seen that huge face in the mountain outside of Needles?
